Bringing Your Vision to Life: The Power of "Making it Real"

Updated: Sep 28, 2023

It's a common adage that:

"When all is said and done, more is said than done."

We've been delving into the realm of Behavioral Science, immersing ourselves in the finest literature and working with the best practitioners available. Our goal? To gain deeper insights that support our mission of transforming words, dreams, wishes, strategies, plans, goals, KPIs, OKRs, and to-do lists into tangible, successful outcomes – and doing it quickly. We've coined this approach "Making it Real."

Too often, people invest copious amounts of time and resources in crafting intricate strategies and plans. Yet, without corresponding changes in action, these strategies and plans remain mere blueprints, seldom leading to real success unless one's exceptionally lucky (though, let's admit, luck can sometimes play a part).

The crux of the matter is this: real success hinges on creating successful action not just on changes within your own team but also on shifting the behaviour of your customers, members, voters, clients, investors, and everyone involved. Changing behaviours is the essence of success, but it's undeniably a formidable challenge.

We've all heard tales of protracted "change management" programs accompanied by hefty consultancy fees. However, advancements in behavioural science, spearheaded by luminaries like Daniel Kahneman and Richard Chataway, are reshaping the landscape. After all, strategies and plans are executed by people, and for now, that remains unchanged. Consequently, we need steps that resonate with individuals, not just with the organisation as a whole.

Strategy without execution and execution without strategy, are both futile endeavors.

Rushmanshttps://rushmans.com/ expertise lies in bridging the gap between strategy and action, a skill we've honed for many years. It's what sets us apart – the ability to get things done and turn concepts into reality, Making it Real.

We're now expanding our horizons, aiming to persuade others to change their behaviour, not just within their organizations but in their interactions with others. The potential for effecting change through the application of behavioural science principles is nothing short of captivating, provided it's applied rigorously and practically.

Application is paramount. While careful and thorough thinking is essential (we employ various thinking models ourselves), it's equally crucial to swiftly transition to action.

Uncommon thinking to deliver common sense solutions.

Nevertheless, it's vital to ensure that the actions taken are the right ones. This is where the alignment of strategy, planning, and action becomes pivotal.

Together with our partners and practitioners, we fearlessly tackle a myriad of challenges and opportunities, often centering on changing team behaviours and influencing targets. Encouraging people to take action and embrace new strategies, plans, cultures, and workflows while resisting the temptation to revert to the old ways is a challenging task. It's comfortable to stick to the status quo, but as the saying goes, doing the same thing and expecting different results is a form of madness.

Success hinges on crafting a well-structured strategy, effective communication, practical planning, and the inclusion of those expected to execute the plan. While it may not sound flashy, taking clear, practical, no-nonsense steps is the key to progress, far more effective than endless debates.

We've invested considerable time searching for the best solutions, practices, and tools to expedite results. Our aim is to propel our clients toward success rapidly. Stay tuned as we unveil our next steps. At present, we're achieving remarkable outcomes thanks to the fusion of Behavioral Science and the Art of Persuasion.

Some may believe that the principles of "Making it Real" don't apply to their organization, citing factors such as size, distribution, specialization, or nature. However, we've yet to encounter an entity that wouldn't benefit from swiftly acting on a well-constructed and effectively communicated strategy and plan.

From addressing specific challenges and opportunities to winning bids, exploring new markets, optimizing costs, and navigating acquisitions and startups, our work is incredibly diverse.

We're passionate about what we do, finding it both fascinating and rewarding. We take pride in the fact that our clients not only find success but also enjoy the journey of Making their successful outcomes Real.
