Of course you are making the same mistakes

Yes we are all unique of course we are. But if you think that people haven't made mistakes before you and that you are not able to learn from those mistakes rather than making them yourself then you really are going to tread a troubled path.

There is a lot to learn from experience and you would be foolish to think that no one is willing to share their experience with you and help you avoid mistakes that they have made before you.

Many years ago when I was in the PR industry, every single client I met would tell me how unique and different their problems were in their particular industry and their specific markets. Of course there are specifics to different markets but by and large, the issues and solutions were more or less the same.

Moving on, I saw the same thing happen time and time again in the sports industry. Every event is unique. Let's take on a Chief Executive with no experience and start from scratch. Really?

And then there are the people who just don't learn. They know it all of course. Been there done that. They are rightly on the scrapheap.

Continuous learning is essential if we are to keep up with new developments such as AI and Robotics (I am so looking forward to getting one of Elon's Robots!); at least until AI knows what questions to ask.

Asking the right question and then reframing it a few times: that is what experienced people will do for you.

Make a mistake, we all do. Learn from it, or ask someone who may have made it before! It will cost less and save you time and heartache.
