Most people have no idea what is going on.

AI and developments enabled by it will change everything and fast.

Governments, Markets, Corporations, Health and Healthcare, Longevity, Transport, Space Exploration, Language and Society itself - Everything is changing and will continue to change, not a little bit or slowly.

Back in 1970, Alvin Toffler wrote Future Shock, predicting an exponential increase in the pace of change. How right he was.

Since then, futurists like Ray Kurzweil and Patrick Dixon have been guiding us and leading us, and Peter Diamandis has been pointing the path to Abundance.

Yet the world just ticks along. I am agog every day and cannot believe that people aren’t bursting with excitement, curiosity and wonder at the pace of it all. I am staggered that very few people and governments are preparing for the massive impacts heading for us like a gigantic meteorite, train or tsunami. And it’s in plain sight. Right in front of us. Now.

We are going to be healthier, live longer, have incredible tools to work with, robots to do the housework, and AI to do our work if we have jobs. Organisations will be wholly different and reorganised. Markets and stock exchanges will be radically changed. The way you pay for things has already changed, and it will continue to change.

There will be flying cars (yes, there really will), and Elon may make it to Mars with a few people joining him.

But who is preparing for this? If you live an extra healthy twenty years, can the government afford your pension? We know the answer to that. Can you afford to be comfortable for that extra 20 years if you don’t plan for it? With lifespans stretching faster than ever and birthrates in the Western world falling, who is going to pay for people as they grow smarter and live longer?

Are governments facing up to this? The state pension obligations in some countries exceed their GDP. They face a seemingly unsolvable problem, so it is quietly pushed aside. But solve it they must. Jobs will change as they have with all societal shifts, and we must make a plan.

What about you? Are you looking at what’s coming down the track? Are you learning about it so that you can jump on board before it runs you over?

There is a lot of info, and it’s easy to find. You could start with the Moonshots podcast - there are many others. But please don’t be daft. These changes are happening really fast. Continue to drive your life before the changes accelerate and leave you flapping around, wondering where all your comfort blankets went
